Anyone have details re:consolidate all Emergency Communication thru WH?

Heard yesterday on ie radio, don't remember which show-
White House wants to get all emergency info 1st
before it's released to public.

this would include
natural disasters
terraism attacks
nucular accidents
food incidents-like BSE burgers
etc...

I must have blinked & missed this.
I'd like more info.

White House Seeks Control on Health, Safety
The Office of Management and Budget wants to have the final say on releasing emergency declarations to the public.

WASHINGTON - Under a new proposal, the White House would decide what and when the public would be told about an outbreak of mad cow disease, an anthrax release, a nuclear plant accident or any other crisis.

3. And why would do that?

Because everything is political to them. They want to control the truth in ways that help them or, if damaging, create a spin for the corporate media to follow. If it is specifically damaging to them, then they may elect not to tell us at all, period. Because, it would be a "national security" issue (read "personal security", here).
