1. In bad moments,
a phrase Karl Marx often used -- "pro-slavery rebellion" -- occurs to me.

2. Same thing as last time
Slink back down into their hole and wait for the next opportunity.
They may be evil but they are not without patience.

Besides, you've all seen Dick Cheney. Does anyone actually believe he'll ever die?

4. Let's just say
Whichever Dem wins, as well as his VP, should stay away from airplanes for a while. :tinfoilhat:

This sort of goes in with #1, I suppose, but it's enough of a twist that I voted "other."

5. I really, honestly believe
this crowd will NOT leave the WH, even if they've been elected out.

I honestly believe they will try to institute martial law. At any rate, none of us should put it past them.

6. short of marital law
They could simply steal the election again. It worked before. Let's ask the Congressional Black Caucus what they think.

7. I think challenging the election results in any way, shape or form
would fall under "drastic" action by the bush cabal. My poll assumes the Dem is named the winner and that there is no doubt about it, à la 2000.

8. Challenge results in every close state
Bet you 5-4 that any republican loss goes to the Supreme Court.

9. I voted other
I think it will be a combination of things stopping just short of a coup d'etat. The vast right-wing conspiracy will lumber into reaction to discredit the new president, investigations will begin in Congress, an effort will be made to invalidate the results in various states, law suits will be filed and the republican attack machinery will be activated to prevent the new guy from governing effectively. In line with that effort Congress will deny his appointments and refuse to act on his legislative proposals. In short, the republicans will collectively throw themselves on the floor, kick, scream and threaten to hold their breath until they turn blue. It will be interesting if not very edifying.

deconstruct the right wing submedia ASAP. If he's got any sense he'll use any legal excuse he can come up with to smash companies like Clear Channel into tiny bits, and seriously roll back media consolidation.

Otherwise he'll just be looking at a non-stop, coordinated smear campaign, and we'll be right back where we started in four years.
