Why Didn't Bush Recess Appoint Janet Rogers Brown Instead of Pickering?
Those of you who swear that Bush's appointment of Pickering had nothing to do with MLK day, I ask you, why didn't he appoint Janet Rogers Brown, a/k/a "Clarissa Thomas" instead of Pickering? Why not play up the appointment of another african american on MLK day? Soak up all the bullshit about how he's done more for blacks than anybody else.

In reality, appointing her would have been a worse slap in the face to blacks than the Pickering appointment. I'll let you in on a little secret...

Bush thinks blacks are too stupid to realize that appointing her would have been a slap in the face. He thinks some of us would have thought it good since she's "black." He really wanted to stick it to blacks good, thus he chose Pickering first to really make sure we got it. Get it?

1. I don't think he cares about what African-Americans think
IMHO, the point of the move is to reassure the racists in his base that the MLK-day stuff was phony.

3. He may not care what blacks think, but that doesn't mean
he doesn't enjoy sticking it to them, the vengeful bastard. I'm sure he took great pleasure in it.

9. They won't vote for him....
...so he's going to get his. The petty, juvenile antics we've come to expect from lil' georgie.

6. She was basically a token appointment, totally unrepresentative
of the people who share her heritage. Pickering is what the turd is all about, pandering to the southern white bible thumpers with a man who has managed to keep in the "I've only been marginally exposed as a redneck racist" column.:wtf:

8. I remember when his idiot father,
King George I, appointed Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court. He knew he would be in for some major shit if he didn't appoint an African-American to replace Thurgood Marshall, so he appointed the most conservative self-hating black judge he could find, one who would really stick it to civil rights and minorities but who couldn't be criticized as much because he was black himself. That way he could preen and prance around saying how "enlightened" and "inclusive" he was, and anyone who criticized him for his appointment must be racist. He knew exactly what he was doing.

10. The reason is obvious.......
His actions speak louder than words. I hate that racist biggoted lying moron. It's just another flipping of the bird to blacks everywhere. He doesn't deserve one vote from an African American....not one. But there are a few black conservatives that will stick up for him no matter what. They are letting him make them look like the fools they are. It's a shame.

11. All Of The Protested Selections Were Asked
if they would take a Recess Appointment. Only Pickering said yes. He only gets the position for one year; then has to start all over again.
