Has anybody noticed the price of gasoline going up? |
|
It appears to have gone up from $.161 to $1.66 in my area over the last week.
What is the situation elsewhere?

Austin is always one of the cheaper parts of the country to buy gas. San Antonio tends to be abuot 5-10 cents cheaper. But yes, gas is more expensive now. I remember in 1998-99 when gas was 81 cents a gallon.

8. CBS News did a report on it this week |
|
Some people are saying that gas might hit $3/gallon come summer. They also said that the oil industry blames Bush & Co. because they are buying large sums for the strategic reserve.
I will look for a link.

9. All the different excuses |
|
In the Northwest, they're blaming it on the ever-present "refinery fires" excuse.
That's taken regular at the corner Texaco station from $1.53 to $1.75 in the space of about 3 weeks. Premium is getting ready to top $2 again.
Funny how they have all these different excuses, huh, when you know that, come next quarterly report, they'll all report record profits yet again. And nobody calls them on that.
