16. But...but...but....Bush's election victory has already been factored into
stock prices, interest rates, et al, by the media and Wall Street. But...but...but it might be calamitous should Bush not win. Therefore, everyone must jump on the bandwagon to assure our continued prosperity and dominion of the world. Only then can we have freedom and democracy throughout the world. <sarcasm off>

22. maybe
they went a little too far with the Moon/Mars thing and the "lets let illegal imigrants off the hook so we can drag down the cost of labor" thing went a little too far? Maybe these proposals were the straw that broke the camel's back and the average television addled moran finaly realised that the Great Leader is full of shit? Maybe Rove, Cheney & co just got a little too cynical for their own good?

I don't know if this is the case, I've long since given wondering why so many people are taken in by these bastards. I've stopped thinking that it is possible that the average people will finaly wake up to the reality of the neo-fascists now running our country, but who knows maybe I'm wrong about that.

4. But there is some bad news
Edited on Sat Jan-17-04 06:44 PM by Ilsa
The bad news is that the economy is taking first place over the war effort. If the economy is perceived to be improving, the problems in Iraq may not drag * down far enough.

Also: 58% said the Bush's space initiative isn't worth it, and 65% are against his new immigration policy.

10. They keep trying to use the inflated Wall Street numbers...
to claim that the economy is improving. Of course, the indices are way up based on faith-based investing which is "forward looking." In other words, they think, hope, pray that things are going to get better, i.e., the old Hooverism, "prosperity is just around the corner!"

12. Economy is doing great if your rich.
For the rest of us, Our standard of living has decreased and continues to do so as the wealthiest 1% continue to consolidate the capitol gained by Chimpy's tax cuts. We must stress that Snow's 200,000 jobs per month never happened and that the new "Neo-jobs" are paying 13% less on average with limited or no health benefits. > CNN/Time Poll backs up latest W down turn. <http://www.pollingreport.com/wh04gen.htm>

21. That doesn't necessarily mean what you think it means.
If the economy is taking first place over Iraq, that does not mean that Iraq isn't important to people. I think that a lot of people have already made up their minds about this administration and they will NOT forgive them no matter what happens to the economy. It doesn't mean Iraq isn't important; it just means that that issue has been judged and people are now looking at other issues.

13. This is surprising, given that CBS look to have caved yesterday
by pulling Moveon's winning ad slated for the Super bowl. I personally told CBS (about a dozen times) How I felt about that one. Anyway, this poll has some real language and tone against the Chimp that I have not seen since the pre-Saddam capture days.... "And there is other bad news for the president.

Less than half now approve of how he is handling the situation in Iraq. 51% say the war was not worth the costs.

Two of the president's just-launched initiatives have met with negative public assessment. Most Americans oppose temporary work permits for illegal immigrants and don't think a permanent space station on the moon is worth it.

Just 41% say the president has the same priorities on the issues as they do.

Only 30% say he is more interested in protecting the interests of ordinary Americans than in protecting the interests of large corporations. Just 39% - fewer than before - have confidence in his ability to make the right economic decisions. " I would like to think that our letters of yellow journalism and distorting poll numbers and everything else we send to the Bush media Moguls have done some good. I however, will now send twice the amount of letters to the media.

A CBS News/New York Times poll of 1,022 adults shows that the president's approval rating of 50% matches his lowest approval ratings ever, and the largest number ever – 45% - disapprove

11. It could be partly because the Dems are getting their message out,
thanks to extended media coverage of the Iowa debates and caucusses. And there will be much more of this through the rest of the year.

14. But watch for Rove to try Kill tactics like having Chimp's State of
the Union Address on Tuesday, One day after Iowa. Notice that Bush appointed The Racist judge less than 24 hrs after he visited MLK. Notice how there was 0, no media coverage about that as an outrage. Why, its all Rove timing and we must send millions of letters to the media, - snail mail works better.

I would not put it past some of their organizers.

20. That's absolutely incredible, ....
... and it's right on the front of cbsnew.com. It's incredible because you could really see the corporate media close ranks after the O'Neill revelations ('accusations' in FOX-speak), and they were supporting Bush. It may be (hope, hope) possible that people are seeing Bush for what he really is - a two-bit hustler dressed up in a lot of money.
