Fred Barnes said tonight once Dems. choose candidate, rightwing will tear him to shreds from 2 sources:
1) massive tv commercial broadcast by George W. campaign (with his $170 million).
2) rightwing columnists tearing into the Dem. candidate in unison.
I hope the candidates appear on talk shows like Jay Leno's (John Kerry did) and The Daily Show (Kucinich, Edwards, and Clark did) as often as possible from now on so people have some feel for them and don't believe the upcoming rightwing attack. If they can go on "Oprah," all the better.

2. 'attack' ≠ 'tear him to shreds' |
|
unless the attacks are justified.
If not, they might assisting in tearing 43's reelection chances to shreds.

3. there comes a point... |
|
....where the Republicans always overreach.
What happened to the "Bush will provide positive ideas; Democrats will have only negativity"?
How will they tear down a Dem candidate without negativity?

The plan could be for $170 million in rosy ads for George W., (Morning in America part 2) while the rightwing pundits smear the Democrat.

* will stay positive, but the attack dogs on the radio, Fox News, CNN, the right wing columnists in the newspapers, etc on the other hand will never be more vicious.

If anyone reading this has contact with a campaign, try to get your candidate on Oprah, Letterman, The Tonight Show, etc. as soon as possible.
Don't let the first thing the average person hears about the candidate to be rightwing distortions.

5. That's why we must choose a nominee, against whom the attacks |
|
just will not stick. They will roll off, like 'water off a duck's back'. Especially since the attacks will have to be lies.
We have two (maybe three) of them, now, from which to choose. One of them, I hope, is obvious.

We are all awaiting the marching orders from on high. The fright wing columnists already have their collective tails between their legs. When you ignore the cheese the stink gets worse.

He said Clinton would never win. After the 94 election he said Clinton would be a one term president. He said Bush would win the popular vote by six percent.
It's nice to hear him admit that RW columnists are all mouthpieces for Rove, however.
It looks to me like Dean, Kerry, Clark, and Edwards all like being attacked. It gets their blood up and makes them campaign harder. Bring it on, Rove!

9. Bring it on! I can hardly wait! |

The way we will win this election is by grassroots word of mouth advertising, and, when need be, extreme arm-twisting!
No amount of money spent on false, fear laden, talking-head TV, is gonna prove that the emperor is clothed. He's as naked as a Jay-bird and that's where he's gonna end up!
So get ready, We, the People, will be the messengers bringing Peace, Hope and Truth back to America's Government. We had a pretty good American government just three years ago, so we know it can be done. One year from now we'll just be starting to erase these last three gawd-awful years of the over-bearing, over-spending, and over-reaching White House squatting, son of a bush.

10. But that's not giving the American people any credit at all. Do |
|
these jackasses think that the truth isn't pretty plain to see? Screw Bush* and the repukes. Do they really think that people who are watching their standard of living sink to that of your average third world country can't put two and two together and figure out exactly who's fault it is? Do they think that the climbing jobless figures don't tell us something? Do they think that we don't understand that some dumbass proposing a mission to Mars when we can't aford the gas to get our low wage jobs is making any sense whatsoever? Do they think that people are too stupid to understand the word 'deficit'? Excuse me, but I truly think that these arrogant assholes truly underestimate the intelligence of the American public. Wishful thinking on their part does not make it reality.
Cheney and Halliburton, Perle and Frum talking about more wars in the middle east, a major increase in the rate of bankruptcies and homelessness, tech jobs going to India and China, the increasing awareness that Bush* & Company lied to get us into Iraq and we are having one hell of a time getting out, and on and on and on. All the money in the world won't change the fact that this administration has been the biggest failure since 1776.
All the democrats need to do is put out the message that this country cannot withstand four more years of these people and their criminal behavior. We need to organize and make plans. We need to ensure that seniors have a way to get to the polls. We need to get a grass roots campaign going, one that makes the people who wouldn't normally go vote get registered and make it to the polling places. There are a lot of things that we can do to change the outcome of this election if we just do them. It is our responsibility as well, not just the candidates.

11. My Messge To Wingnut & GOOPies |
|
Lately I've been enjoying some of the grumbling I've been hearing from the Repugnicans that dominate my neighborhood...immigration, not getting a big enough tax cut, economy, war...there's plenty to chew on...but still not enough to move them to stay home (these folks will NOT vote for a Democrat...), but I sense that time is coming.
I just ask a couple questions when THEY start talking politics. First "Are you better off than 4 years ago"...that always gets 'em...and few say "yes" (those who do, it doesn't take long to find out how really miserable they are).
Next, ask them how it feels to be "duped"...yes "DUPED"...that they've been had or are being taken advantage of. This is also real simple...and soon it becomes obvious how uniformed these people are and not all that happy with how things are going. There are so many GOOP hypocrisies out there right now, there's not a topic you can't easily demonstrate how they've been lied to. People don't like that...especially when you can point out how it's affecting them.
Again, this will be a battle of turnout...the Democratic base is as energized as I've ever seen in uniting and outing this corrupt regime...the other battle will be to find those who aren't as enlightened and show them the light...so they stay home and turn the lights off this usurper.
