The next time Bush pops up, it won't be a poll; he'll pop up toasted
Edited on Sun Jan-18-04 03:22 AM by TruthIsAll
See how he has quickly dropped back from his Saddam bounce to 50% approval on the latest CBS poll.

Thank you, Paul O'Neill, for telling America about the blind, deaf- mute sockpuppet, who never met a CEO he didn't like..

Thank you, Kevin Phillips, for telling America all about the BFEE.

Thank you, Franken, Conason, Palast, Ivins, Moore et al, for telling America the truth about Bush's lies.

Thank you, Rove - for the Mars boondoggle.
Thank you, Rove - for illegal amnesty.
Thank you, Rove - for disrespecting MLK.
Maybe you're not so smart after all.

How low can he go? My guess: he can freefall to something below 40% before he hits his dumb-ass corporate/freeper/wingnut/fundie base of support.

I wrote this a month back:
Bush is running out of bounces - like a damped sine curve, they get smaller and smaller. With Saddam's capture, he has seen his last effective bounce.

.....Date....Bush Bounce
1: Sep '01...40%..9/11, but did we get Osama? NO
2: May '03...20%..Iraq invasion - mission accomplished? NO
3: Dec '03....7%..Saddam captured - insurgents defeated? NO

Three strikes and you're out, Chimp.

Like a damped sine wave, Bush has seen his ratings bounce approach zero. That's an asymptotic fact. His next bounce will be a last gasp 2% (or maybe less).

With the ongoing 9/11 coverup, Plame leak, madcowGate, plunging dollar, jobless recovery, exploding deficits, disgruntled troops, Bush can no longer expect a ratings bounce of any significance.

Even another LIHOP won't do it for him. But Diebold might. Or maybe we will see Martial Law. You say you want a revolution?

We are about to see the final descent of the BushCo roller coaster, bringing him and his cohorts to a final, screeching stop.

We will then have to pull him out of his seat, kicking and screaming, if need be.

1. I agree with you overall...
...Osama may be a factor. But if everyone is sick of this shit, he may not even be a factor.

2. May he go in peace. . . as opposed to

having to be pried from his seat. If we can get a new Democratic administration in Washington, we might all live to grow old.

3. Don't be so sure...
He might catch Osama.

There will be elections in Afghanistan and Iraq. Don't expect Rove to go down so easy...we might see some good job numbers...or maybe a major terror attack will be thwarted

I do agree with your post ...he is running out of tricks

4. What Rove is doing right now with the space, illegal aliens, MLK, BS
is lowering expectations.

Than the whore media can claim he has "beaten expectations" if he doesn't fall over drunk during the debates.

Bush's success depends on low expectations. These are all calculated moves that are focus-grouped to death before they are offered.

He is trying to move to the center right now, so he can have garbage to point to during the SOTU. Nevermind the fact that he can't fund any of it.

Of course, all of this only works if you have a complicite whore media that falls for it.

6. Bush will not stoop to debate this time around
" Than the whore media can claim he has "beaten expectations" if he doesn't fall over drunk during the debates."

He will claim that as a sitting president he is to busy keeping the ship of state afloat.

5. oh good!
Now that Bush is in a non-refundable free-fall, we can stop fretting about the upcoming election. He and Rove will doubt just put that $170 million in a mattress, do nothing to shore-up their base; nor have any comment or ads about the Democratic nominee. Public opinion of Bush will just freeze in place, and perceptions of Bush will not change in any way until he is easily voted out of office without a second thought.

...and I was so worried this might be a tough fight. Silly me!
