Divided We Stand (Clinton v Bush Culture War)
http://www.boston.com/news/globe/magazine/articles/2004/01/18/divided_we_stand/

In this presidential election year, the country finds itself in the midst of a surprising cultural clash — between the forces loyal to George Bush and those loyal to, yes, Bill Clinton. The battle lines of this domestic cold war will not be found on any campaign ballot, but they do, and will, define America.

This is a unbelievable article.

To understand what I mean, check out the photos comparing Bush to Clinton. The captions for Bush read - the warrior, the born-again, the traditionalist, the cowboy, the scion. The captions for Clinton read the internationalist, the celebrity seeker, the ladies man, the crowd pleaser, the cheerleader. That alone should tell you what this article is all about.

1. Thanks, Justice.
I find this subject truly fascinating. I think it could keep a school of shrinks busy for a lifetime.

2. I wish I hadn't read it now
I hated every word, but it just shows what progressives are (and have been) up against for many years.

3. Technically ...

Technically, Bush was the one who was the cheerleader. Democrats should make sure to point them out. There is nothing as culturally emasculating as being a male cheerleader. i.e. the guy on the sideline cheering on the folks who are WAY tougher than they are.
