Unnamed Dem leads Bush 45-43
How about that?

Times/CBS poll show Bush ratings down

NEW YORK, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Democratic voters held a 2 point edge over those who would vote for President Bush if the U.S. election were held now, a CBS/New York Times poll said.

The poll published Saturday found that 45 percent of voters said they would vote for a still unspecified Democratic candidate and 43 percent would vote for President Bush.

1. Which goes to show
that all our boys are "electable." Good for you for pointing that out!

2. The headlines may as well have read
unnamed/named democrat leading Bush because that is the case. The corporate media certainly will not chop the hand of the one that feeds them.

5. I prefer a candidate who's against NAFTA and FTAA,
thanks all the same.

Dean looks nice, but if he opely supports NAFTA et al, then I've got to wonder...

9. why do you hate NAFTA so much ?
You need NAFTA, with a number of changes, including some international laws to regulate workers rights etc. I do worry, however, that the capitalistic system may only "work" if it can shift the burden and crap somewhere else. Now, we have reached the "global" level in the world. Before there were the colonies etc. Now, there is no other place to go that is outside the system (perhaps Mars ??)... Not sure how it will play out..

10. My DREAM candidate

My dream candidate would be for Wesley Clark to openly oppose both WTO and NAFTA. As former NATO commander, he has more foreign policy experience than all of them. Make Howard Dean the Veep to provide domestic experience and you have a Bush killing duo.

The biggest dynamite issue out their is NAFTA and WTO. It is killing the future of our nation. We will end up just like all those illegals fleeing to America for better opportunities. Willing to do anything for a meager amount of compensation and living 10 to a 1 bedroom apartment.

6. An incumbent polling below 50% is toast
This is some of the best news Democrats could hope for. No sitting president has ever polled below 50%. This must have Karl Rove spitting mad.

7. I believe
Bush's approval rating in the newest CBS poll was 50 approval/45 disapproval. Some major polarization going on for ten months out from the election.

8. I think this is the start of something wonderful. It means the campaign
has started and people are listening to what the dems have to say. I saw on the Sunday news programs that * was going to try and trump the election by saying "we are in a state of war" and use that as an excuse for no jobs, no healthcare, no insurance. Hence, since we are in a state of war, you need to vote for those who have the measure for protecting you.

I think that is so stupid and I hope the american public is capable of saying "we are in a state of war because YOU WANTED THIS WAR, it was a war of choice (Iraq) and not a war of necessity" and realize that in retrospect, our tax dollars could have been better spent with healthcare, education and jobs and not going after a "made up" enemy.
