For the first time in his life, Mr. Reid had no reply. “I didn't know what to say,” said Mr. Reid, noting later that he wished that Mr. Bush had referred to him as a “rugged-looking young man or something. “But I'll take what I can, I guess,” he joked. “When a Texas Republican says you've got a pretty face, then I guess there is just no way around it.”

10. This is just frat boy ranking

It's an embarrasement - this is how our diplomatic relations are being managed, as if it's a kegger on Spring Break. Meanwhile the real business is being done with Cheney and the CEOs behind the scenes.

It's just a great big FU to every democratically elected government and organization, and a way to keep them busy while real decisions are made elsewhere. I can't imagine they will let it go on too much longer.

11. I wonder -- Bush confuses Scott Reid with Scott Brison?

Mr. Brison's a Cabinet member who's openly gay. Maybe Georgie recalled someone telling him "oh, Paul Martin has a gay guy working for him", and just assumed that this was the same Scott. And couldn't resist taunting him a little (like he did to one gay legislator in the Texas Legislature).
