Direct-action DUers: Is a squirt gun "assault"?

Mrs. Robb and I were arguing this point. If you're at a demonstration, and a counter demonstrator gets in your face, what are the legal ramifications of squirting him/her with a little red squirt gun? (not a super-soaker, which should be classified as an assault weapon :) )

and if they are for the freepers or not. In some locations, just laying a finger lightly on someone can be called an assault if the cops want to pick you up.

in doing so. Lord knows what you've been squirted with. Could be water, bleach, urine or any thing the shooter could imagine. I'm all for protesting but baiting the police is uncalled for. These are people who are just doing their jobs.

the cop insisted it was me, the court appearance was hilarious - straight outta Kafka.
