Help please for finding numbers concerning Reagan

[Kanary]

During the early years of the Reagan administration when so many cuts to the safety net were made, I know there wre thousands of deaths. I know that because I had friends who were social workers, and they knew first-hand many of the suicides.

However, whenever I try to bring this up to people, it's dismissed as a fig newton of my imagination. I have searched at various times to try to find some stats on this, but have failed. I would appreciate it if one or more of you search gurus could come up with something for me.

4. That's a great resource

I appreciate having that all in one place.

However, it doesn't mention anything about the cuts during the Reagan years, and the toll those cuts took.

I guess that's heartening, as I haven't been able to find it, either.
