Civil rights question.
I was watching a segment on one of the morning shows today about a school in Detroit where the white kids had a black teacher in 7th grade. They had not gone to school with black kids and a black teacher was definitely a new experience. He ended up teaching them a lot and letting the kids ask questions like "why are black people trying to move in our neighborhoods" and getting them to think about it. They were getting the class together again with him.

That got me to thinking about how I seem to remember race riots in New York and Boston in the 1960s also. Did the civil rights workers ever go to these cities or did they just come south?
