4. OH GOD! Gag me!
That is just so fucking pathetic. Why not just have Alan Colmes?

What a disgraceful lame crappy and embarrassing thing to have to endure. Am I back in high school or something?

6. Ten dollars says that Dashcle begins with something like...
"while everyone agrees with President Bush on..."

The Colmesification of the Democratic Party. I think those days are coming to an end, though. Can you believe that just 4 years ago, Joe Leiberman could be chosen as the candidate for VP and Democrats just accepted it? Not any more.

7. Remember now,
we're trying to appeal to those swing voters, can't have an angry Democrat on TV. Gotta show those shiny smiles and talk in soft, reverent tones. Can't drive away those fence-sitters. :puke:

15. OK...I want to slap the backs of the heads of those people
From the CBS poll who said "Haven't heard enough about George W. Bush yet to have an opinion."

Frankly, these are the morons who need their voting rights revoked.

10. Want to see Pelosi's "Pre-Buttal"??
<House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, and Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, South Dakota Democrat, offered a "pre-buttal" to the president's speech yesterday that takes Mr. Bush to task for "misguided priorities."
"All Americans should listen closely to the State of the Union address next week to see if the president's reassuring rhetoric matches everyday realities," Mrs. Pelosi said. "Sadly, if the past is prologue, the president's speech will be another missed opportunity to offer the leadership worthy of a great nation and an agenda that addresses the urgent priorities of the American people.">

....this is from the moonie times, I could not get the link to work.
Gee, Nancy.... I hope you will do better than that tonight! :eyes:

13. "shoulder to shoulder"
Maybe she can talk some more about standing "shoulder to shoulder" with W to work with him....

Damn, I miss having an opposition party in this country.

12. Robert Byrd Should Do The Rebuttal in place of Daschle
or Dick Durbin, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Barbara Boxer, George Miller, Teddy Kennedy, Tim Johnson (note the irony here! for pete's sake!), Bob Graham...

And the list goes on. What does this say about our 'Minority Leader' of the Senate.

That said, Pelosi does a pretty good job. They should just let her handle it herself. She can be tough.

14. Robert Byrd........Carl Levin....Ted Kennedy......anyone but Daschle!
I won't watch it, but will read it here. Otherwise I'd start throwing things at screen. Pelosi can be very good or very weak depending on what she's talking about. But, I don't fault her like I do Daschle. She's new on the job. Daschle is a mild mannered hack who doesn't have a successful track record to fall back on when he supports Bush by not making the differences clear enough.

16. ugh
I saw Pelosi and Daschle last week previewing their rebuttal, and while the words were okay they weren't delivered with a lot of conviction.

The problem with Daschle is that he always seems more concerned about getting re-elected in what's a tough state for Democrats than standing up to the many * outrages. We need a minority leader with a safe seat who isn't afraid to truly oppose this administration.

17. "Mr. Rogers, Kaspar Milquetoast to deliver Ghengis Khan rebuttal"
Oh boy, can't wait.

Pelosi might not be quite the verbal equivalent of a catfish flopping and gasping on a dock, but I don't think Daschle will even gasp, let alone jump.
