John Rowland's whore: please, PLEASE don't out me!

What a pile of dung. The guy is basically saying, "Hey, lemme do my oppo research in the shadows -- no one should be allowed to know who I am or who I'm investigating -- even though I'm using state resources for my fact-finding." It was oh, so much easier when you didn't need the state to facilitate dirty tricks.

A Republican political operative criticized last week for digging into State Ethics Commission files on the Democrats who would lead impeachment deliberations against Gov. John G. Rowland said he will file an ethics complaint today against commission director Alan S. Plofsky.

...

Boomer's planned complaint, a copy of which he released Monday to The Courant, seems to further concentrate the assault on Plofsky, even though Boomer said he had not informed Republican State Chairman Herb Shepardson or the governor's office about his intentions.

Plofsky, reached Monday, denied that his actions concerning Boomer were improper and called the Republican operative's complaint "ludicrous." Plofsky added: "I guess I have this annoying habit of telling the truth. That's not something I plan on stopping doing."

...

"If someone comes to a public office and wants to disclose his name and his purpose, that's his choice," Plofsky said, adding that Boomer did just that when he visited the agency two weeks ago. The ethics commission "never asks who a person is" when he or she asks to see public records, Plofsky said. But since Boomer made no secret of who he was or what he was looking at, Plofsky said, when The Courant asked him if Boomer was there and what he was doing, he answered truthfully

2. Remember
He was doing this all for free on his own time... and he also has some land in Florida to sell you afterwards.

This guy Boomer isn't referred to as Connecticut's version of Karl Rove for nothing. I'm sure he has a bright future in the national Republican Party.
