"President Bush Is Robin Hood"
So says a letter writer to the local paper. Once again, I beg you all to let your opinions be known with the "voice your opinion" option at the bottom of the page. The comments do not appear immediately, but everything seems to get posted, regardless of political affiliation.

http://www.dailylocal.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=10834794&BRD=1671&PAG=461&dept_id=17785&rfi=6

A brief excerpt:

"The truth is that the Bush administration has cut taxes and has given money back to the people who earned it, whether poor, middle class or "rich," and this has helped turn around the economy. There is no redistribution of money in this country from the poor to the middle classes and the so-called "rich." In fact, our nation is extremely protective and generous to the less fortunate."

Let 'em have it. :)

3. More like Prince John, trying to usurp the legitimate rulers throne
While robbing the poor to give to the rich.

"...To really see what is going on you need to look at the top 1%, the top 0.1% and the top 0.01%.
Then you discover that there has been an explosion of income on the very top of the scale.

2000 22%

5. A truer statement has yet to be said!
"and this has helped turn around the economy".

You better believe it! Bush's policies have turned a big surplus and a strong economy into massive unemployment and the the biggest deficit ever.

11. *bushes are descendants of Prince John
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 11:41 AM by Unknown Known
Kevin Phillips makes note of it in "American Dynasty", p.293.

"The medieval Plantagenet kings - including alleged Bush ancestor Henry III (son of the Prince John who chased Robin Hood)..."

Everything the *bushes say is a lie! That's why you can be sure that if * says that God speaks to him, you can assume that he actually means Satan speaks to him.

14. That Hood gave me $1200 last summer - that he's taking back this year!
Don't people get it? The per-child tax checks last summer - that caused a tiny bump in the economy last quarter - was an ADVANCE on this year's tax refund.

People that got those checks last year are all getting piddling tax returns this year.

The rich folks who got SUV credits and a favorable tax rate get to have it that way FOREVER unelss someone comes in to undo that catastrophic restructuting of the tax code!

Dems - seize this as another talking point to turn the tide against Shrubco!

22. Robin Hood? BUT BUT This guy takes from the Poor/Middle Class/
future and gives most of it to the Higher Class...including his friends and associates.

Baffling he gets away with it, proving there are dummies everywhere, and all too many in the Pub Camp.
