CNN hints at Bush's "not necessarily funded modest proposals"
CNN just ran a brief interview with a reporter stationed at the White House who said that Bush has one more rehearsal to go before tonight's live S.O.T.U. broadcast.

She used the term "modest proposals" three times in her approximate 2 minute segment. The focus (after Bush takes credit for the overall "recovering" economy and global security) will be on "domestic issues," specifically health care and jobs. One item will be the proposed "investment" option of Social Security benefits.

She stated that the "modest proposals" will be "ideas" from the president, and will "not necessarily be supported with government funding" due to the size of the deficit.

In other words, look for "helpful hints" on how to find a job from our President. Also stay tuned for "helpful hints" on how to save and / or invest the money you probably no longer have.

Democratic response on CNN will be from Nancy Pelosi and Tom Daschle.

4. I don't think they could actually give the official rebuttal...
...since the Democratic party would have to give each of them a chance (or else look like they're playing favorites).

But I'm sure all of them will have their releases ready to go two minutes after the SOTU ends.

3. Here's the drill for Bush*
Make proposals that either won't be gov't funded....so you can't be accused of running up the deficit, or....

Propose a program that the center/left will support and then either not fund it or let the Rep controlled house kill it.

Solidify the hard right base...pay lip service to the center to make you look less extreme....with a wink, wink, nod, nod...........

6. Heloise is from Texas, Bush* is from TX - Coincidence?
I think not. A prodigy of her parent just like Bush*. Both offer "helpful hints" that may or may not actually be of benefit to you.

Heloise grew into her role as columnist at the knee of her legendary mother who began writing the first "Hints from Heloise" for the Honolulu Advertiser in 1959. Her daughter quickly learned how to tackle problems that are common to everyday households, and, while still in her teens, worked full-time during summer vacations on the increasingly popular column. Although she had set out to teach math, she decided after graduating from Southwest Texas State University that writing "Hints from Heloise" was what she really wanted to do.

7. Shrub giving hints at finding a job?
A little boy whose daddy opened doors for him his entire life, is gonna have hints on how to find work?

Bush's HINT 1 to the serfs: Have congressman dad obtain job for you in national guard

Bush's HINT 2 to the serfs: Have dad's friends buy a baseball team for you to run

Bush's HINT 3 to the serfs: Have dad's friends in corporate America steal a political office for you.

Let them eat cake!
