Military families protest SOTU....join us in DC at Capitol Bldg, 7:30 PM


Military Families Hold Candle Light Vigil at the
U.S. Capitol During State of Union Address
'Remembering Lives Lost to a Lie'


WASHINGTON, DC - On January 20, during the State of the Union address, Military Families Speak Out – supported by Veterans for Peace, other peace groups and faith communities in the Washington, D.C. area – will mount a powerful, respectful remembrance of 500 American soldiers who have died in Iraq, together with penitential prayer for them and the estimated 9,000 Iraqi civilians who have died in the war and the chaos that followed.

WHO: Military Families, Veterans, Peace activists and others
WHAT: Candle light Vigil and remembrance of American and Iraqi lives lost in Iraq war
WHEN: 7:30pm - 9:30pm Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004
WHERE: 3rd Street NW between Constitution and Independence Avenues

3. We are also doing it here in our small town
any number of us meeting up at the Post Office tonight, I already have WWMT in Kalamazoo covering it (I hope they show up), on channel 3 in KZoo....we are reading the names of all 500 plus soldiers during the chimp's speech.....and I am an old woman who used to yell pretty loud at my kids when they were outside, so I will yell them out EACH AND EVERY NAME OF THE DEAD SOLDIERS WHO DIED FOR NOTHING

In the meantime, any of you can do this..go into town and light a candle and call out their names....if everyone in every small and large town did this, it would be amazing..they are also calling out the names of the dead civilians in Iraq in DC...good..
These are more then military families marching in DC..they are Veterans for Peace and many other groups...
