3. SOTU speeches are boring as hell.

I watched last year's just to see what he was going to say about Iraq.

They are especially boring when both houses of Congress are controlled by the same party as the President. The interminable applause makes them unwatchable.

The only reason I would watch is to look for Charlie Rangle sitting on his hands and not applauding. Charlie's face is sooooo expressive.

This year, even that won't be enough. Anyone know when the rebuttal is on?

8. I work in a northeast Florida video store

and the traffic for videos today was unusually high. Many renters were snowbirds, but a lot were our usual customers and many said they were getting videos because the SOTU was on tonight. One woman (a senior) actually said I cannot watch that man, I cannot even stand to hear his voice.
