Daschle - Pelosi will issue answer to SOTU
What do you think about that?

I'm disappointed.

The Democratic Party refuses to use its moral authority and draft someone who has been through the struggles for workers and minorities to challenge Bush.

Damn. I don't think America relates too well to Daschle and Pelosi.

2. It should have been Ted Kennedy!
I saw his speech on CSPAN last week and it was a home run.
I'm disappointed. :(

6. If Kennedy gave it they'd be doing "blonde in the pond" one liners all
night.

I will wait and see but I think Pelosi will connect.

8. I'm underwhelmed.
Last year, Gephardt all but, oh, never mind.

My choice would be Peter DeFazio.

11. I'd choose Harold Ford
He is a plain speaker and makes a great impression. He is young and has lots of energy.

9. Oh, my Gawd. Daschle!!?
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 06:15 PM by Enraged_Ape
We could start a whole new drinking game wagering on how long it will take for Daschle to say that Bush sounded "confident", "inspiring", or "like a true leader", or lauding him for "presenting his case to the American people". I'll say any of these statements are worth chugging an entire bottle of Jack Daniels. I know that's what I'll be drinking if Daschle is involved in the post-fiasco response.

18. I'd go for Neil Abercrombie (HI 1st)
I just heard him at an MLK Day dinner on Friday. He was on fire! He used the phrase "appointed pResident", in public, not once but three times, then tore into Bush* for "doing everything he could to undermine Martin's legacy"!! He even pointed out that Martin was in Memphis to support striking garbage collectors when he was murdered. I was like, "Get this guy on a plane to Iowa!"

Oh, right, we can't have anyone tearing into Bush*, much less questioning his legitimacy, on national TV, now can we? My bad... </sarcasm>
