That is so great! ... Well, what does Brokaw care--he's retiring soon.

2. LOL!
Freudian slip, indeed. Too bad most people won't even pick that up.

5. I remember an incident a couple of years ago
when the chimp was actually talking to a reporter. Chimpy was talking about Cheney and he said, "He walked into the room and told me what I was going to do". Chimpy them stopped and "corrected" himself, and said, "He walked into the room and I told HIM what I was going to do. That's what I did". What a dork.

7. umm, that's actually correct (in the mundane sense)
well we all know it's not shrub who's in charge,....

but what i mean is that the sotu is a speech given on congressional turf, during a joint session of congress, which is presided over by the president of the senate, i.e., dickless cheney.

so cheney actually is 'in charge' during the sotu. that might have been what brokaw was thinking but he realized it came out wrong.

kinda reminds me of the (in)famouse al haig "i'm in charge, here, at the white house, pending the vice-president's return" right after reagan was shot. poor al, he got it right in the narrow sense (he was indeed the most senior person in the executive branch available at that time) but wrong in the large sense that that is not what people think of when they here "i'm in charge".
