I missed the speech - how were the Democrats reacting during it? |
|
I was at my Senate district DFL meeting tonight and only caught a little of it on the radio. What were the Dems doing during the speech?

they applauded when he said "patriot act soon to expire" and "tax cuts to expire"... Bush wasnt expecting that, he was using those lines to lead up to asking congress to repass.
Otherwise, quite quiet.

...and not clapping most of the time.
GOPers kept looking over to see what Dems were doing. That was funny.

1. Dems clapping when B*sh says several provisions of the patriat act are expiring. Smirk face was priceless.
2. Clapping at tax cuts set to expire, smirk ready for them then.
and the best
3. Smirk says we should be good stewards of the taxpayers dollars. Dems got up and clapped enthusiastly. Absolutely thru B*sh off and pissed off the repubs.
