one of Hillary's jobs is help coordinate the Democratic message, i.e., who speaks for Democrats ... she might not be the sole decider, but I believe she has a Senate leadership role (Steering and Coordination Committee Chair) involving this process of who speaks.
Does anyone ever listen to us?
Out of the spotlight, Clinton quietly climbed into the ranks of the Senate Democratic leadership.
In January, Daschle selected her to head the Senate Democratic Steering Committee, which places lawmakers on committees. But more central to her aspirations, that post will allow her to serve as a liaison to core Democratic constituencies.
The position in leadership also gives her a hand in crafting and refining the Democratic message.
A solid relationship with Democratic allies such as unions, trial lawyers and environmental groups, and a major say in the party’s message would serve her well in any future White House bid.http://www.hillnews.com/news/032603/hillary.aspxI'm tired of the same old bland voices when we have some great people under utilized, if at all.
What about Ted? Barbara Mikulski? Barbara Lee? Byrd? Feingold? Durbin? or someone off the Hill, Jim Hightower???
Sometimes I wonder if it isn't intentional.
One almost has to hunt down the senate.gov info using Daschle's website to launch the Party info.

In its capacity as liaison between the Democratic Caucus and elected officials, constituency groups, and community organizations across the country, the Steering Committee keeps individuals and groups apprised of the positions, proposals, and activities of Senate Democrats, while reaching out to build relationships with communities and groups across the United States.
