Will Daschle ever grow a spine?
After Republicans failed to end debate on the Omnibus Funding Bill yesterday, because Democrats want offensive provisions removed, Tom Daschle says the bill will probably pass as is.

The bill contains provisions for eliminating overtime pay for about 8 million workers, privatizing the air traffic control system, delaying by 2 years country of origin meat labeling, and increases media consolidation, among other nasty pieces inserted by Republicans during confernce meetings at the behest of Bush.

Republicans said they won't remove the provisions, and said it will probably come up for a vote tomorrow.

Is that all we get? A symbolic vote that delays this atrocity by 2 days? We call this leadership? How many times will Daschle let Bush bitch-slap him before he fights back?:puke:
 :wtf:
:argh:

2. impermissible speech
Failure to accomodate the radical right may result in the loss of those precious votes in the (ever-rightward-drifting) middle.

You aren't some illogical Green who wants 100% of your agenda right now, are you?

4. The Republicans will always get their way...

...as long as the Dems show this tepid resistance to the right's fascist agenda.

- This bill gives them everything they've been seeking over the last two years...including the previously rejected media consolidation and the end of overtime for the working class.

6. Have focus groups confirmed that having a spine is popular among
swing voters?

Becaue that's what it took for Kerry, Clark, Gephardt and Edwards.
