Let’s preempt a possible Rove strategy right now...

Knowing the Rove just loves his photo opportunities, what are the odds that Rove will have Bush make an appearance to Super Bowl?

I have a gut feeling that Bush will be there congratulating Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. The All-American kid and the aptly named PATRIOTS just seem like too good of a photo opportunity for Rove to give up.

5. It would also be a way for Rove to poke fun at MoveOn.org's attempt
for an anti-chimp Super Bowl commercial...

Also, the Super Bowl is taking place in Houston at Reliant Stadium... a place where Bush senior is known to have watched games. I also believe that the Texan's owner Bob McNair and Bush senior are good friends.

9. CBS does not own the superbowl.
CBS has the contract to air the game, and choose not to air political ads. However, Bush can go to the superbowl if he wants to, and if he does it will be a minor news item. He would be making a "nonpolitical" appearance. Please notice that I put that in quotes. He would be using the power of the incumbency. He would not be able to make a speech, but he would be able to meet some players and wave to the crowd & cameras.

3. He can't do that ...
Lush Rimjob said the Patriots were Socialists for taking a team approach to the game. It would tarnish *'s image of independence.

7. If anything...
I think Rove tells Rush what to do. I can't imagine that it would be the other way around.

6. Hah!
I realize that the referees are pro Patriots, but will that be enough to stop the Panthers?

I say: Look for Bushco to push the "Patriot Act" not at the game or right after, but during the official 'congratulations' visit to the White House the week after.

8. I'm a Bills fan...
I don't want to see New England win and would love for the Panthers to win. I think the fix is in for New England to win so that Bush can have his photo opp.

15. There's a good chance of that assuming everything is fair...
This administration did not hesitiate to lie about a war, so I don't think they'll give fixing a game a second thought. Sports have been used for political purposes througout history. Jesse Owens, Joe Louis, Max Schmelling, etc... This theory is just a natural extension of that.

14. 100%.
Emperors, Commisars, and other assorted Totalitarian Scum know the political uses of sport.

Like when the Emperor ushered in the NFL season, which is absolutely going to become an Imperial Tradition.

You can make book that at the very least, the Emperor will be kind enough to Welcome His Subjects to His Super Bowl.

:puke: :puke: :puke:

Yet another page out of the Hitler playbook.

Watch. This one's a no-brainer. The Emperor will welcome us, just before kickoff.

Just like Hitler and the Olympics.

Sure it's disgusting, but as a nation without a history, will the Imperial Subjects of Amerika even remember that there once was a day when the Emperor didn't show his face before the football season and the Imperial Super Bowl?

Of course not.

Orwell was so right, it's frightening.
