Anyone see Dennis Miller's crazed appearance on CNBC last night?
After the SOTU? They were trying to interview him about his new show and he sounded even more loony and out of place than he did on MNF. He made some remark about Bob Graham and tuna fish sandwiches, which (to borrow a friend's phrase) "made total senseless", then tried again with a joke about the statues in Statuary Hall. For some reason, the CNBC guy pressed him twice on the issue of gay marriage, which made him really uncomfortable, as he clearly has many gay friends and he wouldn't speak the conservative line on that issue.

It was quite strange and made me wonder if his show will last more than a month. Or, conversely, if they press him to be too conservative, he might actually rebel.

1. I have never heard him
speak in any depth about the issues. Just memorized one-liners. He is obviously not a deep thinker.

5. Why cant the "Liberal media" give Al Franken a show instead?
He is also a comedian- but with even more political savy and no cheesy 70's hair plugs...

Arent there enough conservative shows (O'reilly, Blitzer, Paula Zahn, Rush Limbaugh, Scarbourough, etc) as there is?

7. Miller sucks!
Always has and always will, My best memory of that idiot were his dumb one liners while he was a football commentator! What he lasted 1 season before people got sick of his moronic statements! Who are they going to pick for their next commentator Rush Slimeball? Oh wait they tried that :puke: Of course he screwed that up with his half baked right screwball ideas! Who next Krusty The Clown? Would be a better choice than those other two in my opinion!

10. It's the plugs!!!

I think they implanted the hair-plugs to deeply into his scalp.

Actually, I really think it's because he's rich now. He's now part of the establishment. He has moved into the big leagues and now is on the "better, richer" team.

He's always been smug and condescending. He's a shitty communicator because he waves around his obscure references as if every one ELSE should know about them. Virtually ANYONE can do this in their field of expertise.

An effective communicator speaks in the language of his audience (something GORE didn't understand either). Dennis Miller did a good schtick on Weekend Update when someone else was writing his script. He bombed when going freestyle. Basically, deep down, he's just an ass-hole.
