Iraq Is "Liberated" What Is Next For Iraq? |
|
This subject has been bugging me for awhile now I am going to use a lot of quotes in this post so bear with me.
If Iraqis ever see Saddam Hussein on trial, they want his former American allies shackled beside him.
"Saddam should not be the only one who is put on trial. The Americans backed him when he was killing Iraqis so they should be prosecuted," said Ali Mahdi, a builder.
America is responsible for what Iraq became. We backed Saddam and his regime. We provided them with weapons and training. America is responsible for the deaths of Thousands of Iraqi people. Why didn't we stop it when we were their allies? Why now is Iraq evil?
The United States backed Saddam in his war with Iran in the 1980s. During that time, he also gassed an estimated 5,000 Kurds to death in the village of Halabja. Where was the outrage? Where was the axis of evil speeches? Why did America just stand by and watch this happen? Could someone please explain this to this simple Liberal?
Saddam was a top graduate of the American school of politics," said Assad al-Saadi, standing with friends in the slum of Sadr city, formerly called Saddam City, a Shi'ite Muslim area oppressed by Saddam's security agents.
So not only did America educate Saddam but we also let him kill Thousands of his own people! But 20 years later he is the bad guy? What is wrong with this picture? Iraq is no better off now than when Saddam was in power. We need to turn the Country over to the people of Iraq so they can run it! They know better how to run their own Country than any American! We have made enough of a mess with Iraq it is now time for us to leave before we do more damage to this region.
What is your take on this?

2. A new military dictator is what's next |
|
A new puppet that does Amerika's bidding.
However, I don't count out the rising star of the Ayatollah who may foment an uprising among Iraqis that the U.S. military cannot put down.
In that case, we will have a new and pissed off Iran-like state with lots and lots of oil.

4. I don't think this administration knows what to do. |
|
Of course they will ignore the statements related to American complicity. But now with the Shiite Mullah insisting on the popular vote they have a problem. The Shiite majority would rule the day and would likely begin their control of Iraq by making sure women do not have any rights, whatsoever. Definitely a quandary for the Bush Administration.
