Monsanto and genetically altered canola plants. There was a story about it in the Sacramento Bee on Monday and I found it completely infuriating. This whole genetically modified thing has nothing to do with feeding the poor, it is all about owning plants and therefore getting paid any time someone grows one or harvests anything. It is greed beyond compare.

This will certainly turn out the you know whats.

2. Do you know his story?
He found some canola plants on his farm, by the road, around power poles etc, and he noticed they wouldn't die when he poisoned them with Round-up, which is made by Monsanto. So he let them grow, harvested the seeds from them, and planted a field of them, harvested the seeds for making oil and sold them.

Somehow the plant police from Monsanto found out that the plants were genetically the same as the ones their patented seeds produce. So they want his profits from his planting. He did not steal the plants. He did not use seeds harvested from plants grown from Monsanto seeds. The canola plants became the same genetically through polination by the wind or whatever. He just used the plants that were growing wild on his farm.
