Colin Powell on Sean Hannity
And spouting the corporate line. Has there been a more disappointing public servant in our time than Colin Powell? You know, that he knows, that the neocons are dangerous nuts, yet he does the bidding of his puppetmasters smoothly and with feigned conviction. I have given up on him. Integrity is a word that is foreign to him. As for Hannity, he is simply a mouthpiece.

4. He is without a conscience or shame
How he could continue to walk tall after that fraudulent performance at the UN is beyond me. There have been cases of people committing suicide over much more minor personal humiliations.

5. Where did people ever get the idea that Powell was different?

I've been on this board and really don't understand why anyone would put Powell in a different category than Rumsfeld.

I think it is purely PR spin. It's a good cop/bad cop show and people on this board fall for it hook, line and sinker.

It's complete bullshit and I have never bought it for a second.

6. Powell lost his credibility at .....
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 04:54 PM by 0007
....." Colin Powell played a direct role in suppressing the inquiry into the My Lai massacre, and into related atrocities against civilians.

As a White House fellow during the Watergate years he earned a reputation -- but only for keeping his mouth shut.

As a military assistant to Caspar Weinberger during the Reagan administration, he helped to deceive Congress about the trading in heavy weapons with Iran, about the exchange of those weapons for hostages, and about the diversion of the illicit proceeds to finance another illicit operation in Nicaragua.

In Panama, in 1989, he helped shape an operation that totally disregarded international law and took many civilian lives.

During the Gulf War, he strongly opposed any military help for the Kurdish and Shia rebellions against Saddam Hussein."

7. I admit it.
I bought into it. I was wrong. Powell is just another Republican liar.
Forgive me, for I did not know.

10. S'okay.
I bought into the 'Powell is different' lie back in 1997, when it looked like he might run for President as a Republican.

Actually, back then he might have been. Since then, he's sold out.

9. He's the only one left.
Paul O'Neil had it figured out, that he, Christie Whitman, and Colin Powell were brought aboard just for cover. And then there was one.
