Suskind's "The Price of Loyalty" is a LIHOP primer
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 06:01 PM by nostamj
according to this book, islamic terrorism/al qaida was not even on the table of the National Security Council until after 9/11.

the "security" of the United States was focused on the removal of Saddam Hussein, a rotten, discarded, republican-empowered, despot who posed no credible threat to the american homeland.

not on the proven reality of islamic fundamentalists (2003 WTC attack, millienium plots) and domestic fundamentalists (OK City/McVeigh) terrorist assaults.

Let It Happen On Purpose has broad possibilities from knowing the specifics of the attack and standing down to the refusal to focus on Islamic fundamentalist threats because of sensitivities to the Saudis (for political and BUSINESS reasons).

I hope you can read TPoL. I'm not done yet, but the picture is frightening.

If LIHOP is unfair (which I doubt) then JDGAS (Just Didn't Give A Shit) is on the mark.

1. I'm reading it now
it is really really interesting. And obviously gives facts to the image we all have of that administration. The part where they found out before the state of the Union that the "facts" about not being able to pay down the debt was a lie but it went to the printers and they went with it. No one spoke out, not even O'Neil. Also it backs up Dean's comments today about Greenspan. He said he did not speak up enough about the tax cuts being bad and the deficit problem. O'Niel admits in his book they both knew this to be true but didn't say enough about it.

2. Except its MIHOP
I agree. His book is big in it's implications. One more piece in the puzzle.

5. unless it's used to bring on marshal law...
and the suspension of elections, another attack would destroy any chance for a bush re-election.

either way, * certainly would 'win' any more than he did the first time.

7. I became convinced on watching the second tower get hit.
And all the evidence since then has only strengthened that belief.

There's NO WAY that bush is innocent of making sure 9/11 happened. The dots are waaaay too connected...right back to him.

8. The anthrax attacks were also a red flag for me
and they still are, because they are so obviously the act of an American with very high intelligence clearance, and because Ashcroft has buried that investigation, as has the FBI.

I supported the invasion of Afghanistan.

I still do, but not the way Bush has done it, because they have not followed through to make the place safe for females.

...because the way Bush has done it is too "coincidentally" like the scenario they needed in order to install the Unocal pipeline, and let the population go to hell.

When I read Forbidden Truth, and started to see all the connections between the Bush, bin Mahfouz and bin Laden families, when I saw how corrupt the 9-11 commission was (even after stonewalling it for a year, and trying to starve it of funds),

when I started reading up on "past history" concerning BCCI, Iran/Contra, Iraggate, and so many other constitutional and criminal violations by the Bush family...

I no longer thought that anything was beyond this gang of thugs.

At that point, LIHOP or MIHOP were issues I could look at without the prejudice of assuming that our nation's leaders had a moral compass which would preclude such activities.

they don't.

The implications of this book are totally damning to Bush and handlers. Congress should take this document seriously and begin a REAL investigation, ultimately leading to impeachment and prosecution.

11. Just finished it!
This regime is truly evil. I always knew it -- this confirms. O'Neill deserves a lot of credit for telling the truth. Even though he is a repuke, he is a man of integrity, I hope he is off building water wells in Ghana.
