Can Bush stay in office two more terms
Since the unelected resident didn't win in 2000 can the Republicans steal two more elections and place him into office.

2. Constitutionally, I think Selection 2000 counts
against his term limit.

It wouldn't surprise me, though, if they try to repeal the amendment limiting the president to two terms, though.

With Bush as a starter, their bench doesn't need to be very deep.

4. Thank God, the Constitution says NO!
Edited on Fri Jan-23-04 09:21 PM by ih8thegop
The Constitution says if you've served more than two years of someone else's term, you may only run for re-election once. He has already served three years of President Gore's term.

Of course, we all know about Bush and the Constitution.

5. They're grooming Jeb or
or Governor Arnold Schwinenpecker if they can change the law so he can run for President, then we'll have a real Nazi and an Austrian too, like Hitler, in the WH.

20. wasn't it Lott, or was it DeLay, that has already introduced a bill?
that would allow non-natives to run for Prez?

It was one of those right-wing congressional bigots, they all run together after awhile...

7. To change a constitutional amendment....
...two thirds of the states need to ratify -- after Congress approves. That takes years and years. Remember the ERA???

29. the PATRIOT ACT
nullified the 4th ammendment

when another LIHOP happens, they have ALREADY said they would shrd the Constitution. What happens after that will have nothing to do with ratification.

i'm just saying, put nothing past them, they have already changed Constitutional ammendments, through the back door

24. I agree...
There is no way he'll serve another term. He won't be elected or selected again. He is too unpopular. They have screwed up too many times. AMericans are on to them. They are on plan B: I think that they are trying to put Clark in to replace him becuase they know he is out of there.

30. Wait, two more terms?
Isn't the non elected one only allowed one more term, per the Constitution? Or am I missing something here? Are the repubs suddenly going to admit that Bush* wasn't elected the first time around? I doubt that!
