of flight training. If that's not AWOL, then nothing is.

2. A little more background |
|
During the height of the Viet Nam War, Shrub was allowed into the elite Texas Air National Guard, jumping over several other more qualified people. This unit, I'm told, was guaranteed never to see combat overseas. Shrub asked to be transfered to the Alabama Guard, because he was working on a political campaign. He was ordered to take a physical-he never showed up. In fact, no one can remember him showing up for anything for the Alabama Guard. He lost his flight status, and the whole mess was sort of forgotten.
I've heard from Viet Nam era Guard vets who have said that not reporting for duty is technically not treason or even AWOL-there must be a hearing. In most cases, the recalcitrant must make up the weekends he missed; if he missed a whole lot, he would be called up for active duty and remain on active duty until his time was up (and active duty meant, according to my sources, that he would have gone to 'Nam). None of this happened because Shrub never had a disciplinary hearing. So nice when Daddy can pull strings to keep you out of harm's way.

Do you think our military was THAT STUPID! If you had been in a combat infantry unit over there, would you want George Bush flying around above you in an airplane?
Seriously, when I was in during 'Nam there were cases of NG and AR guys forced into active duty because of their weekend warrior problems. Some were sent to 'Nam.

jumping over several hundred more qualified people
Let's send Shrub on midnight patrol in Tikrit. 18 months of disarming IED's would be good duty for him prior to his upcoming prison sentences for treason, purjury and murder.

Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 10:19 AM by blondeatlast
Let everyone know this: OUR pRESIDENT IS A COWARD.
How cowardly is it to send our sons and daughters, who enlisted to PROTECT the US after 9/11, in harm's way for an illegal, aggressive, invasion based on a series of LIES?
If that isn't the ultimate COWARD, never mind, because it IS.
edit: illegal and aggressive

for at least a year . Theres no man that can testify for Bush because he wasnt there. He was in Texas campaigning for a guy that lost.
Meanwhile he wages war and ships men to where he deserted from
Theres also proof that he got way favorable treatment.

Greg Palast researched and found out that's one pt above "too stupid to fly".
Then Jr did them the favor of AWOL.

when he didn't show up for a mandatory physical that required a drug test.
Why do you suppose he didn't want to take that drug test?

10. At least Bush as deserter is in the news even at Clark's expense |
|
PJ may have been doing two things here: trying to make Clark look bad by not denying Bush was a deserter; but, more importantly, putting the issue of Bush being a deserter out in the mainstream.
They're will at least be a few articles examining his AWOL year in 'Bama.

17. Fox commentators after |
|
It was shameful how afterwards, the post debate commentators (led by gambler & dominatrix user Bill Bennet <not sure of the terminology there??>) all came on and ripped Clark about not denying Bush deserted... so, it must be something they are scared of.

who was in the National Guard at the time..he showed it to his unit.. They were flabbergasted and angry. This was 2 years ago. Some of them are in Iraq now. I imagine they are none too happy about the fact that the Chimp in Chief got a free pass while they have to put their own lives on the line for a fraudulent war that same Chimp started.
