I think that the California Re-call hurt Bush. |
|
I was at my Dad's in San Diego for the summer and I got to see some of the campaign for my self and in person. The thing that got me was the TV commercials. Arnold was on all the time and always in a suit trying as hard as he could to look and act like his enemy, Gray. But the fact that he was always on did not matter to me it was what he was saying. He always said some thing like "Special interest dollars go into Sacramento and favors come out." I mean other than Twisted Sister's "We are not going to take it" that was his whole campaign message, right? Hm, Sacramento is starting to sound a lot like the District. And Gray is looking a lot like this monkey in Washington.
America is done taking crap from our leaders. I think we can take advantage of this anger. Oh wait, we have to!

1. Gray Davis's approval rating |
|
Had a 22% approval rating- it was lower than Richard Nixon's nadir. That data point shouldn't be overlooked.

6. Even so he was elected to a second term instead of Simon. |
|
There is something that really stinks with the installation of Schwinenpecker. Simon, who lost, and Wilson the former governor, who made the fiscal mess, are all back in power propping up the pumped up turkey.
Even if the state is bankrupt, the fact that it is collecting taxes from the fifth largest economy in the world seems to have made it worthwhile for the pirates to go in and pillage all over again.

9. Davis's 22% approval was AFTER he was re-elected |
|
And created the unique conditions for the recall. Primarily about him hiding the depths of the deficit during the 2002 election.

10. Then we should have elected another Democrat to |
|
replace him. Instead we got a movie ass who entered the race late in the game, who acted as if he were already governor, like it was in the bag. Something still stinks.

2. Chimp shouldn't take comfort |
|
from Davis getting recalled. Davis getting recalled has nothing to do with any liking for the repugs, it had to do with disliking Davis. Personally I couldn't stand Davis and neither could alot of other Democrats, inspite of that no way was I going to vote to recall him but alot of Democrats didn't feel that way. Dislike for Davis is not going to translate into any love for the repugs and chimp.

7. If logic is applied then you could be right but since when did republicans |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 01:12 PM by Bandit
use logic. They recalled Davis using the grounds of financial malfeasance. They used the states deficit to GDP ratio as justification. Funny the exact same ratio applies to Bush*
