Who's reading or has read Price of Loyalty?
I just got my copy and started it - almost half-way through it
and I'm boiling mad

can't read more than a few pages at a time before I start swearing and muttering

This should be required reading for every voter in America

1. I'm reading it
And it has the same effect on me.

I can only read it a few pages at a time, and not in the morning nor before bed, or I'm angry all day.

2. I read it
And this is what I figured was going on. I never thought that they had a clue. I'm really glad that Paul O'Neill released this information, my opinion of him has gone up because of his honesty.
I hope everyone read this book, pass it on too. Info for the masses.

4. Not one has denied the charges in the book.
They called it sour grapes that he was fired, they said that no one ever listened to him anyway even though he served in other administrations, but not a damn one of the big boys have denied the charges in the book. The media has dropped it already and not one of them asked the question of could this be true. The administration don`t talk about it and the media complies so it just goes away.

5. yep
The media certainly has covered the smear campaign against O'Neill, but they don't touch the content of this book.

I had the same reaction as I read it - I'd read about a chapter and put it down because I was so pissed. I mean, WE knew a lot of this anyway because you can't look at the man speak and not know he's a simpleton and a puppet, but what a horrible peek into a group of people who are driving our country to ruin.

The Camp David story where the nitwit prattles on about comfort food right after 9/11 just summed up what a disconnect this idiot has from reality.

6. Just finished it
I think the part that surprised me the most is that they knew how much they would hurt the economy but continued with their plan. I alway felt that Bush was a ignorant fool, lazy, and purposely chooses to not learn. This book confirms it.

I was disappointed in Greenspan. His testimony about the tax cuts encouraged Congress to pass them. He's been around long enough to better word his testimony.

8. I've finished it - we know
most of this stuff - reporter's just ignored it. Is good to see the insider report of how it came about. Try "American Dynasty" also

9. Finished it.
O'Neill's experiences only validates DiIulio's accounts of the Mayberry Machiavellis. O'Neill concludes that he, Powell, and Whitman were brought on just for "cover." They had no intention of listening to dissenting voices. O'Neill's account of that Austin "Economic Summit" illustrates this.

10. I read it, and I predict that ...
... 99% of the people who do read it will not vote for George Bush. I can't believe the way that the media underrepresented what's in this book - it's fascinating seeing how the process works, like the meetings between Greenspan and O'Neill. And the conclusion is immistakable that W. is under the influence of the wrong people - especially the supply-side idiot Larry Lindsey and the Dark Hustler Dick Cheney.

11. about halfway through (and will be further today!)
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 12:45 PM by nostamj
the stunning thing for me (so far) is that the NSC apparently didn't mention the islamic fundamentalist terror threat until *after* 9/11 in spite of the warnings and research provided by the Clinton team.

from the first meeting it was only 'get Saddam' and no claims of 'contingency' or 'it was Clinton's plan' hold a drop of water if you've read the book.

one can only hope that the 19,000 documents will prove one thing: the Bush* administration ignored the terrorist threat
