Frontline this week: Beef production
Just saw a preview for this week's "Frontline" on PBS. And from that alone, I'm already glad I haven't put an ounce of beef into my system in a month. Looks like they're going to follow the entire process from feed yard to slaughterhouse to YOUR table.

Looks very disgusting, but worthwhile -- especially, I suppose, if you've been wanting to give up beef. I think the effect may be the same as those quit-smoking programs where they lock you in a room with a million cigarette butts and zap you with strategically-placed electrodes to make you vomit, while you try to smoke. (No, really, I went to one of those places once to see what the program was about, and that's really how it worked.)

Anyway, on that revolting note, just wanted to tell everybody about the show.

Best part of the preview: The background music is the piece that was used for the "BEEF: It's What's for Dinner" commercials (which have been conspicuously absent from the airwaves).

2. any idea when this is actually going to be on?
I checked the listings for my local PBS stations, and it's not listed in the next two weeks. any idea when it's scheduled to be shown? I wouldn't be surprised if the pressure is on to tame it, if it hasn't already been watered down.

3. SF Bay Area...
KQED, it's on Thursday at 8:00pm. You can probably find local listings at www.pbs.org.

And you're probably right -- but it looked so icky, I'm hoping they go for the gross-out. LOL
