Let's use some imagination. * is on a losing streak. What can we
expect from the WH?

Does * do an LBJ? Not the way I read him, but Poppy may have the final say.

Is Cheney toast?

Will Powell quit b4 November?

Will a prominent Repub (e.g., Hegel) break publicly on Iraq?

I think the U.N./Old Europe position is, as long as * is tied up in Iraq he can't cause trouble elsewhere. Agree/disagree?

I think China might decide they'll never have a better chance to retake Taiwan. Agree/disagree?

How patient will the Kurds be? And the Turks?

This upcoming troop rotation is very scary. Will al-Qaida try to disrupt it? If large numbers of soldiers return safely, how will their opinions affect the election?

Sorry for the impertinence, but I am sick of Dean's scream.

1. Interesting questions!
I've been wondering "How will it end?" lately.

* can't resign: he has to outdo daddy, the one-termer.
Powell could quit (and be the * admin John Dean), but I doubt it.
Hagel is perhaps positioning himself to replace * at some point in time.
Old Europe knows that the * days will eventually pass.
China is poised to be a real 'red menace economic threat.'
The Kurds and the Turks may not fully understand that the US is out of funds to help either side if they start firing at each other.
The new troops won't be as seasoned 9well trained) as the ones in the field now, and look what happened today alone.

Dean's scream is the least of our worries, in my opinion.

2. Hagel is a very interesting case.
I think he can officially be called the first unbush* for the 2008 election. * is looking worse and worse even among his own. Nobody will want to be associated with that scum soon.

3. And conservatives are going to desert him.

On Bill Moyers last night big conservative (don't remember name) said that with bush spending out of control he may see the conservative stay home come election day.

That's big news.
