I don't know if you live in a conservative area or not but attempting to persuade a conservative about something like this is like trying to find WMD in a country that does not have them. Here, you're pretty much preaching to the choir. But conservatives think gays are evil and unnatural perverts. The previous statement was put as lightly as I possible could.

I live in College Station, TX and let me tell you, it is unbelievable. On campus, a girl had a rainbow sticker on the back of her car. Someone pulled up behind her, got out of his car, and punched her in the face.

We always have "family values" rallies. Honestly, most gays stay deep in the closet in fear of violence. If two girls or guys were holding hands, it would not be out of the ordinary for someone to spit on them.

The episode features a fellow cabbie of the main character who is beaten up with a friend of his outside a bar. The friend is a closeted gay and the crime was a gay bashing. Later in the episode the friend is killed. It turns out the killer is a cop which explains why the investigation went so poorly.
