Screw CBS with me!
I'm done with CBS. I did not like the fact that they pulled The Reagans but I dealt with it. I was mad but I got over it. But now I'm DONE. I will never watch CBS again. Moveon.org has tried to run an add on the super bowl but guess what? CBS says no. Just like The Reagans... "No!" Here, watch the add. What is wrong with it? There are no pictures of dead Iraqi children or dead American kids. I bet we see beer commercials and what some people call "soft porn." So guess what... I'm saying NO to CBS. I will not watch the super bowl and I will not watch CSI and I will never watch The late show again. I will not take this from anyone. I will never watch CBS ever again.

4. They should remember that half the country doesn't care for Bush...
soon the media is going to have to respond to the progressive side of America. They spend money too!

I'm not watching tv now either. I guess they (networks) all have some problems. I just haven't watched football since the Vikings folded.

After a while all the games are the same anyway.

7. you would be a fool to throw out the baby
with the bathwater.

CBS Evening News and esp. 60 Minutes are doing the best mainstream investigative journalism left on the air.

i doubt you saw Rather's report on the chimp MLK humiliation. they stressed the 'on the way to a 2K-a-plate fund raiser' and gave real time and voice to the protestors.

did you see 60 Minutes break the Suskind/O'Neill book?

the CBS corporate organization does some terrible stuff. BUT, they have not YET silenced their NEWS division.

there is no news on cable 'news'
none.

but, the nightly network news HAVE actually done news.

they deserve support, not kneejerk dismissal.

the people on this board are not the ones that need convincing, it's mainstream america. Quite frankly I get all my news from here (DU) and other sources on the internet.

14. CBS and pro-choice?
ISn't CBS the same network that refused to run a pro-choice ad, but had no problems runing a pro-life ad?

15. There is a tendency to demand the impossible.
Don't expect CBS to quit acting like corporate media. The campaign against CBS re: MoveOn ads is not because they are the worst, but rather a weighing in of us against them and their agenda. NBC, Time, whatever, all of them. This is just one way to take them all on and not specific to CBS. Don't confuse the location of the battle with the reason for the war.

As for your TV viewing, do whatever is useful, but don't refuse to watch, for example, the NH debate simply because it is on Faux. The one thing I would recommend if you want some anti-corporate TV is to get Dish Network in order to access FSTV and LinkTV. And if possible, get your folks to order via the FSTV store in order to drive home the point that this type of content is the reason for the order.

16. Just saying, the freepers were effective because
they did not just write CBS, they wrote to each and every advertiser. The advertisers were the ones who put the pressure on CBS to remove the Reagan movie.

17. CBS is the best major network we've got.
They're the most "liberal" of anyone else (CNN, NBC, ABC, etc).
Take it easy on 'em!

18. Stop watching TV at all.
I did a couple years ago. I'm through with it. The corporations couldn't PAY ME to watch TV now. Its nothing but junk, distractions from important issues, SALES, propaganda and a totally fkd form of mental conditioning and mind control: Stay passive, BUY OUR WORLD VIEW. Etc.

20. The major ones are
Anheuser Busch (9 ads), Pepsi (7 ads), H&R Block (5 ads), Wacovia Securities (5 ads), GM (5 ads), and AOL (3 ads). There are plenty of others listed here:
