I think Bin Laden is directing the insurgencies
The daily attacks on convoys, the shooting down of choppers, etc. (see Afghanistan and the Soviets)

I have also seen reports that Bin Laden may be in Iran and they also caught an Al-Queda chief in Iraq recently.

Yes, I am willing to bet all this has Bin Laden's fingerprints all over it!!

12. Only time will tell..
if i am correct or not. I am going by the little peeps in the media and what is unfolding right there before our eyes. I admit, this is pure speculation. I am just wondering if anyone else is getting the same feeling that I'm getting.

2. Based on what?!?!
Sounds like a RW talking point to me. Do you have links to any of these reports?

If you believe this, do you think Saddam was working with bin Laden prior to our invasion.

3. It's the only possible explanation. Only he could prevent the Iraqis and

Afghans from falling to their knees in humility, begging to lick the boots of their new American masters in awe and gratitude for magnanimously being allowed to present their lowly oil as a heartfelt gift to beloved US business interests.

...in the same way Rommel was behind the tank battles in Desert Storm. ;)

At least of the foreign kind. Looks to me to be Iraqis fighting the invading force.

15. I seriously doubt this
Just because things are similar doesn't direcly imply they are directly related as in the Afghanistan/Soviet example.

What you're seeing in Iraq is a classic resistance movement against invaders. It won't be very long before we'll see the formal Iraqi Liberation Front formed. This will happen when the disparate and unrelated groups that are causing the havoc have a meeting and decide to formalize their resistance.

At that point Bin Laden may try to play a role but we're dealing with a largely secular society and they like it that way. So Bin Laden may be an influence only to the point where his goals (destruction of America through any means available) coincide with the goals of the Iraqi Liberation Front (expelling the American occupiers). Once the occupiers are expelled, both will have accomplished their individual goals and that is when they will likely part company.

directing attacks against US interests. All those other people THAT WE HELPED TRAIN are just hanging out in their caves with a pipe in their mouths.

21. You didn't get the memo
It's the freedom fighters and those that want Iraq to take care of itself like they did when saddam was in power. They didn't need or want help to deal with their leader and they are fighting back and blaming UBL is a talking point that needs rebuked.

22. 2 Quotes from the Resident Evil
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama Bin Laden. It's our number one priority, and we will not rest until we find him." (GW Bu$h*t, Sept 13, 2001)

(6-months later) " I don't know where he is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority!" (GW Bu$h*t, March 13, 2002)

23. Our "shock and awe" killed between 15 and 40 k civilians
Those people had families, and friends who are very angry now. Imagine if you came home to a crater, how that would alter the purpose of your life. You and I and everyone else would seek revenge. This is where the resistance is coming from. Just one of the many details gw forgot to work out ahead of time. Bin forgotten is being held in secrecy so he can be trotted out for a November bounce in the polls. Sadam was a test to see how long and how high the bounce would be. Our military personel are the targets of an angry people because of the pResidents greed for power and oil.

24. better sweep Crawford first
Osama and Bush are more closely tied than ANY other two people on the planet. It is naive to believe otherwise. When people start eyeing the Halliburtons of Saudi Arabia, then you can take their talk seriously/
