Dick Cheney Kills Birds Dead (This MUST be read!) |
|
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2004/01/23/notes012304.DTL&nl=fixSo then about a month ago the vice president of these beautiful and deeply confused United States, he of the struggling defibrillator and the shockingly nefarious wife and the gnarled calluses from working Dubya's puppet strings, he of the thin-lipped sneer that makes babies cry and women wince and foreign policies crumble like feta cheese in the freezer, well, Dick goes himself a-huntin'.
Not just any ol' regular, camouflage-wearing, man-versus-nature hunt out in the wild, mind. Dick is far too fragile and unskilled and spoiled and scared of the open woods and icky furry monsters for that. Assumedly.
Nossir, our man Dick, he has himself flown over, in Air Force 2, on the taxpayer's tab, accompanied by his most favoritest shotgun, to the exclusive Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier, Westmoreland County, in rural Pennsylvania, to have himself a nice, cushy "canned" pheasant hunt.
This is what it was: Dick and about nine other overfed white guys sitting in a comfy luxury blind with their manly shotguns, waiting for the Westmoreland guy stationed behind them on a hill to release clusters of stunned, fat, tame game birds from a net. Then they shoot them.
Oh so much more, do click the link and read the whole thingThis would be absolutely hilarious if it wasn't true. Thank God/Goddess/Buddha/Jesus/Mickey Mouse for San Francisco!

1. I just can't help but thinking "satanic cult" because of all the |
|
blood that these people seem to be driven to shed and how they seem to revel in death.

10. You mean like the kind in the movies, right? |
|
Yeah. I agree there's a bloodthirsty component to the ChaneyBush zeitgeist.

4. Wonder what real game hunters think about this? |
|
Seems they can't be too happy about it. Isn't hunting supposed to be about the thrill of stalking(for lack of a better word) one's quarry? What Cheney did certainly isn't hunting.

What cardiac Dick did here, is a "canned hunt". Wrong, unethical, What else would you expect? Hunting is about providing unaltered food for yourself, in reasonable, ethical fashion. Nothing wrong with hunting, some just give it a bad name.

I would presume that there is a "thrill" of the hunt. The possibility that you might not bag a pheasant. You are competing with nature and exploring the primitive roots of humanity.
For these guys, I think it's a necessary display of their ability to destroy the world around them. It's a demonstration of their personal power. Stroking their ego, masturbation with shotguns.
In any case, these guys are seriously sick ass holes.

I'm reminded of the excesses of Louie XIV.
Personally, I think birds are metaphors.

12. hunting is not about the kill, |
|
sorry but I hunt, I enjoy the outdoors more than putting the gun to my shoulder, in fact, I've quit carrying a gun with bullets in it. When I was younger, I thought a trophy was where it was, then I thought that the meat angle made it right. Now, I think falling asleep under a tree and waking to find a hawk three branches up is the kewlest thing I could ever witness. What the secondary puke has done is wrong, wrong, wrong, ethically, morally, and anyway you want to slice it. His karma will be to try to fly with someone with a shotgun blasting away and nearly missing him each shot. btw, I still carry the gun in the woods, way too many crazies out there.
