Why are Dems so defensive of Bush Military Record?
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 01:51 AM by dennis4868
Maybe I am naive, but why are our candidates (besides Clark I guess) so damn defensive of Bush military record (or non-record for that matter?). You can bet a million dollars that if the roles were reversed and that Repub candidates had to deal with the Clinton military record and desertion they would not be holding back for a minute....the repubs and the media would be jumping all over this to the point where they would be demanding Clinton to turn over all his military records and demanding a full blown investigation. Why are the dems so scared to simply say, "there is considerable evidence that shows Bush left his post in the Alabama National Guard and did not show up for a year and that is troublesome for me and should be for this country, after all he led this nation into a war, sending other parents' kids into harms way.....whether Bush was AWOL or a Deserter is a question for military lawyers and not for me to figure out but in any event Bush should be held accountable (for once) for his actions." What in the world is holding the dems back from saying this instead of hearing Holy Joe and Kerry saying that Bush was not a deserter? What are they scared of? Rove? A media backlash? What???

1. Chicken-- also one piece of paper
(real or forged) could make you look like an idiot.

This is really the media's job not the candidates. So far, they have neglected that duty.
