Freepers questioning Kerry's War Wounds
This is just great. While Bush's service record during Vietnam was shady at best, Freepers are busy questioning the validity of John Kerry's wounds in Vietnam and whether they really warranted Purple Hearts and other medals.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1065436/posts

Some Classics:

Kerry must heal really fast

Kerry went their to get his number punched so he could run for high office

He probably got nervous when a heard a loud noise and cut himself shaving

If the criteria for getting a PH is that low shouldn't Al Gore get one for suffering paper cuts and carpal tunnel syndrome from using a manual typewriter during his Viet Nam service? </satire

Minimization of the number of Purple Hearts one receives is an intelligence test. Kerry FAILED.

3. They're just so ridiculous
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 03:05 PM by madmax
In their minds the only war hero's and wounded vets are republicans. They make me sick. :puke: Look what they did to Max Cleland. I suppose his wounds are fictitious.

5. Hey the freepers are right! I remember the story!
He reportedly had self-inflicted wounds because, like a true idiot,he choked on a pretzel...oh wait that was someone else.
He fell on the floor while he was picking his nose..oh..nevermind..

Yeah,Kerry was eager to hit some bullets for his political career..disturbing idiots.

8. As one vet said recently.

"It doesn't take much to get a Purple Heart. But they don't give out those Bronze and Silver Stars to just anyone."

The vet was, of course, speaking of Kerry's Bronze and Silver Stars.

12. Where did bush/cheney/limbaugh/hannity etc
go to get their numbers punched? John Kerry is an admirable American who served his country and should be thanked by all Americans. I smell a civil war coming on folks. Ignorant, bastard morons on free republic who have no concept of service to country or the value of the constitution want a fight. I'm standing by, waiting for the ditto monkey dupe/rube crowd to mobilize me.

13. I wonder how the Freepers feel about Jessica Lynch?
By all accounts she did nothing that would qualify her for being awarded the Bronze Star. If you go by the initial propaganda that came out about Lynch, where she engaged the enemy until the last of her ammunition was spent, and then was stabbed and shot, I'd say that version of the story would definitely earn her a Bronze Star. The actual version, where she dropped her piece and started praying, and then spent several days unconscious in a hospital where she received compassionate care from the Iraqi doctors, is not, I'm afraid, worthy of a Bronze Star. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to minimize her ordeal, but I just don't see how she earned the Bronze. A Purple Heart, definitely. POW medal, sure. Bronze Star? No.

14. Do they think Kerry awarded the medals to himself
It goes through a process. A medical person submits the forms and then they go up for review. A review board or Company/Battalion Commander then decides whether or not to issue a citation. It is obvious that none of these "Freepers" has ever served their country.
