can we please STOP complimenting McCain now?
he was on CSPAN tonight, PRAISING dumbo's "leadership"

I could not stand to watch, so if he said anything to temper his disgustingly fawning praise of this junta tonight from New Hampshire, I missed it.

he said, in the aftermath crowd, that the economy could be an issue, but that he thought * would win.

what in the world is going on in his head? was he imprinted with the Stockholm syndrome, or some strange psychological mutation?

can you imagine your response to someone who pulled the vile, filthy tricks that Rove, etal did in South Carolina?

remember what he said to Bush afterwards?

you don't? well, here:

By the time the South Carolina primary came around, the Republican candidates had launched nasty campaigns and loathed each other. When the two men assembled for a group photo, Texas Governor George W. Bush went over to Arizona Senator John McCain in his full I-love-ya-man mode, seizing both of McCain's hands in his own, one source tells Newsweek in the special election issue. "Let's not let this get personal, John," he said. "We've got to start running a better campaign." McCain looked at Bush. "Don't give me that s--t," he growled, "and take your hands off of me," according to an exclusive report in Newsweek's special election issue.

http://www.findarticles.com/cf_dls/m4PRN/2000_Nov_12/66862415/p1/article.jhtml

they're interviewing him now, and he's somewhat softpedaling his support: "I'm just up here campaigning for pResident Bush"

1. Did you notice the crowd? Almost every last one was a man.
As for McCain, at least he sometimes says things I agree with as opposed to * who never says anything I agree with.

5. and, oh yeah.....did you hear the music?
Born in the USA!!!!

are they completely STUPID?

or just innured to irony?

do they have ANY idea just how much Springsteen LOATHES the chimp?

not to mention what that song MEANS......

McCain, especially should realize how cruelly ironic that song is.

that was too surreal for words

3. Whould we expect anything less from one of our Dems if they lost
I fail to see how one can condemn the other side for something we would hopefully do ourselves.

11. sure......right
thanks for that "insight"

do you have the SLIGHTEST idea what the propagandists did to McCain in South Carolina?

what self-respecting human would put up with what they did to him, from calling him mentally unstable (to the point where he released his medical records) to claiming that he had a black love child!

Jerry Brwon NEVER forgave Clinton for some similar crap he pulled on him.......did he ever have a good word to say for him after that?

did he campaign for him after that?

18. She had been addicted
to prescription drugs.

She is very wealthy & she set up & medical mission to go to foreign countries & help sick children.

She had some sort of medical problem, & took the drugs from her own group. She wasn't caught. She went forward & turned herself in, replaced the missing stuff, & got treatment for her addiction.

20. are you saying that about Mrs. McCain out of ignorance, or for some,......
other reason?

"In fact, Mrs. McCain was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration after the agency was approached by a former staff member of her charity. The investigation resulted in no charges or prison time for her, and she entered a diversion program. While these records were not made public at the time, Mrs. McCain eventually confessed her drug use when she learned that a reporter was investigating the story."

nice try, though

4. Is this the McCain who spent last week
reaming Bush after SOTU? The Bushies must have something on this guy for him to do this for Chimpy. Or maybe he's just two-faced.

28. Would they?
You bring up a very good question....

If, just a what if, the Dem party had a candidate who turned out like bush... Global war, Illegal invasion, patriot act, staggering deficet, recession, etc, etc....

Should the dem pols support him/her? Even the ones who, 4 years ago, had warned against voting for this man. Should they continue to support him?

I would hope loyality to Country would supercede loyal to party.

6. True...but don't count him out yet
I remember him saying in an earlier interview that he hoped Kerry won the nomination (simply because of the vietnam connection) If Kerry were to win the nomination, which is more likely than it was a week ago, then a McCain endorsement would actually help us a lot. Moderates would have another excuse to bail on Bush.

8. You should have kept watching
He said he disagrees with Bush on lots of things.

He said the tax cuts for the rich were wrong.

He said Kerry, Edwards & Lieberman are all personal friends of his, & he talks to all of them all the time. He would not endorse, but said they're all great, & the election will be very tough.

McCain was there being a good soldier for his party. But he's more popular than Bush in NH. Be glad he's not running, because he would take NH in a heartbeat.

I realize he ran against him, but there is no excuse that I can think of for his back and forth nature with regards to Bush.

14. he said that in the aftermath, not in the speech, right?
which part do you think will get spread around?

I'd sure love to see the

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME" quote spread around as much as the Dean scream

McCain is a whipped dog, and acts like it, almost apologetically saying to the small crowd that he's up there campaigning for the chimp

16. He is NOT a whipped dog
And I resent you saying that about 1 of the finest men in politics.

5 & 1/2 years of torture did not make him a whipped dog.

He has achieved MORE against Bush than any Dem.

He got campaign Finance through.

He got the 9/11 investigation through.

He got these because Shrub is scared of him.

I RESENT your dropping in here, defending the indefensible, and spreading disinformation

see your untruthful post about his wife, re: your assertion that she turned herself in as an addict.

she did NOT; she was turned in

see posts number 18 and 20, where the LIE about McCain's wife turning herself in is discussed

some people still have functioning memories

what's your game here?

23. No game here at all
& I resent you saying I am dropping in here; I have a right to post just as much as you.

As to my story re Cindy McCain,a previous post said that the Bush people spread a rumor that she was an addict. I responded that YES, she was an addict.

The only thing I disagree with you on is whether she was caught or turned herself in. I followed the campaign very closely & was under the impression that she turned herself in. As you state, no charges were brought & she made restitution.

I do not have any links at hand. If I find them, I will post them.

27. little touchy, aren't we?
it's COMMON knowledge that she was turned in

there are innumerable links supporting the one I provided

of course you have the right to post anywhere you want, say anything you want

it would be nice if it were accurate.

didn't mean to overreact, but McCain has clearly been emasculated.

He KNOWS he got royally shafted in SC, after cleaning dumbo's clock in NH....he had the nomination sewn up, if it hadn't been for Atwater's ghost

if he were in Italy, he'd have stood up to Bush, but they GOT to him, or, more likely, his own ambtion did.

nuff on that

can't wait to see what you come up with in defense of his rich wife's weaseling

15. saw that.....have it on tape
funny how THAT clip got exactly ZERO coverage

ZERO

ZERO

ZERO

just like the rib joint clip, where dumbo looked completely out of it

Harry Shearer read the TRANSCRIPT of that exchange (between dumbo, David Gregory, and ABC's Moran--first name?), complaining that he could find NOT A SINGLE audio or video clip of that one, specifically in contrast with the scream.

his show is one of the best out there, BTW

19. Who's going McCainiac?
Did Saigon John vote against Iraq invasion?

No.

Neither did Kerry or Lieberman.

I want an honest candidate.
Not convinced which, if any are.
Kerry + Lieberman + Bush= gun grabbers. look at the
states they preside. Dean has consistantly defended
the 2nd amendment. Clark has mentioned his support &
his gun collection, IIRC. Edwards? Unknown.

The Constitution & Bill of Rights are the only issues that are
important. They are at the greatest risk. They are what makes
america free.

Now I have no respect for him. He's nothing but a political shill for the Republicans. I wonder what they offered him to do this?
