Questions for Stabenow or Levin anyone?
I'm having brunch with my Senators this weekend, was wondering if anyone had any good questions for them. Let me know.

3. gay civil rights
a friend of mine has written both senators regarding their stances on gay civil unions/marriage. he was not satisfied with their ambigous responses. If they are willing to admit it, it would be nice to know both Senators beliefs in this area. Thank you.

4. If anything is fair game,
I'd like them to hear about the need for instant runoff voting. I know that is more of a state-level (as opposed to Federal) issue but some positive education for them would be very useful.

keeping wolves on the Endangered Species list. The repugs are trying to move wolf management to the states and that would open hunting of wolves in the lower 48.

7. They're both pretty good people.
Ask them about the "Fairness Doctrine". Think it should be re-instituted?

Presently, about 10 companies own more than 90 percent of the media outlets. Should one company own all the radio stations, television stations, newspapers and cable systems in any given area?

The likelihood of turning the Senate from Republican to Democrat?

If the Senate goes Democratic, will the Senate convene hearings on Bush's lies for war? CIA agents arguments their intelligece was compromised? the release of secret information and names (Plame) for political purposes or revenge? political legislative payoffs to contributors? SEC enforcements? politicization of policy in all federal agencies? the role of industry advocates in policy positions?

Can we finally get the damn documents from the White House on who had a say in the "Energy Bill"?

What is the chance of bringing back - with even more teeth - the Clinton bill that forbid persons in policy positions from employment in companies that profited from their policies - the one that Bush killed real fast after his inauguration?

What is the chance of bringing back the Clinton bill that said if a company cheats the government they are disqualified from bidding on government contracts - another one that Bush killed?

Repeal of the recent overtime legislative hell brought on by the Secretary of Labor!!!!!

Forcing through a worker safety law that truly protects workers from on the job injury (ergonomics safety laws)?

Can we ever get a Secretary of Labor that comes from labor, and not from some law firm whose clients want labor regulations destroyed?

If the Senate turns Democrat Levin becomes chairman of the Armed Services Committee. Why will he do first? What does he think should be stopped?

How can they re-invigorate/help small businesses?

Last.....Will you guys finally ever get pissed off enough to start shouting at the top of your lungs about this crap? Get in the damn news and make a stink? Make the Repubs finally respond for their actions? EVER???

Sorry for the rant.
