Raygun/Carter. My dad always stressed the importance of voting and even took me to the polls with him when I was a kid. I can't imagine ever missing a chance to vote.

6. I'm a little embarrassed ... |
|
but I have voted in 3. Only 2 of which counted. I'm 40. I did not vote in the 80's when Reagan/Bush were bankrupting America, even though I preferred every Dem candidate. I was not politically motivated either way. I considered myself an anti-Republican, rather than a Democrat.
In 1992, I Voted For a Change. A few weeks after the election, I received a note saying the my vote was thrown away (I forget why).

7. Real elections? Just 2 -- I turned 18 in 1993 |
|
Mock elections....let's see... I voted for •Reagan '84 (hey, everyone else was doing it) Thus endeth my Republicanism.
•Dukakis '88 •Clinton '92 (Jerry Brown in my U.S. History class mock primary)
And then the real election. Clinton '96 (no primary), sat out the 2000 primary (Gore was assured a win by then, and I was out of town, so it wasn't worth getting an absentee ballot), Gore 2000.

First one was 1976. I voted for Carter. In the words of Red Forman "How could you have pardoned Nixon?" Even at 18 years old, that stuck in my throat. The Professor

17. Four (1989, 1994, 1998, 2002) |
|
Edited on Fri Jan-30-04 11:55 AM by JCCyC
Pesidential terms in Brazil were shrunk from 5 years without reelection to 4 years with reelection between 1994 and 1998.
Curiosity: term limits here are only for CONSECUTIVE terms, so, for instance, Mr. Cardoso can try to unseat Lula in 2006. (and he seems willing to do so)
Edit: I reached voting age in 1983, but we were in a dictatorship. Presidential elections were only restored in 1989. (the last one had been in 1960)

19. Bush or Dole, 7 out of 8 elections... |
|
I've voted in eight presidential elections, and only ONE didn't have either a Bush or Dole on the Republican Ticket (1972).
