WH Schedules October Surprise
The Republican party has always loved meddling in domestic and international affairs to further their political candidates' causes during presidential election years (Reagan and the private talks to keep the U.S. embassy hostages captive until after the election) and apparently they're laying the groundwork for a sudden "capture" of Usama Bin Laden now that the elections are coming up. Forget that shrub put out a "old west wanted poster, dead or alive" for Bin Laden over two years ago. Finally, the WH announces, the army will find him "this year".

Gee, I wonder what finally made them so certain they would find him "this year"? You don't think the upcoming election has anything to do with it do you?

1. Absolutely
Why should they have caught him sooner? Where was the upside. People might have forgotten by election time.

I think they will or will try their damnedest to pull Osama out of the hat just before America goes to the polls for the GE.

I also think the dirty tricks, lies and innuendos about our strongest potential nominee, will begin soon. Nothing mind-blowing to start, but just putting it out there. Once we have the official nominee it will blossom into full blown nasty and ugly. I hope we are ready for the onslaught.

...the US gearing up to go into West Pakistan after Talibanis. Add this to the threatened action on Syria.

3. they could have some guy who looks like UBL
and say he is UBL and how would anyone challenge that?

Did we ever hear DNA results from Uday and (what's the other brother's name) or from the swabbing of Saddam's mouth we all got to see?

6. Couldn't this backfire big time on them?
Think about it. If the WH suddenly Captures OBL right before the election, will people really dismiss the idea that it was staged? I think people's curiosity will get peaked. If the WH ever got exposed for doing this, it could be a disaster.
