ahem, in the lord of the rings the dark lord sauron (essentially a a powerfull satanic archetype in a destroyer end of the world type role) seeks the "one ring" Which in the movie looks just like the ring on this photo on W's finger. The ring makes its wearing progressively more evil and more insane.

8. As someone mentioned before

since Bush is not invisible in this picture he must be some kind of powerful being, Sauron would be the only fitting choice. So in this case, he isnt being corrupted by the ring, he was the person who made the ring and used it to control and corrupt the leaders of the world. He then gathered up the evil forces of (middle) earth and waged war on the races of (middle) earth.

It seems to fit... now all we need is someone to chop off his finger.
