Bush Firing Up the Base..OUR base! |
|
If there is one thing readily apparent from the record turnouts in Iowa and NH, it is that Democratic base is highly motivated to kick the Shrub out of office.
I believe that no matter where Howard Dean eventually ends up in the nominating process, the Democratic Party owes him a huge debt of gratitude for coming out swinging, showing the rest of the Dems that it was not only acceptable to challenge this misadministration, but it was the patriotic thing to do.
Bush's continuous nightmarish performance, however, is firing up the base like never before...and it particularly heartening to see true Conservatives deserting him in droves over his fiscal irresponsibility.
Things are looking up folks!

1. I must say, I'm more optimistic than I've ever been. |

I keep hearing comments everywhere about how stupid Bush is. It seems the RW is having to hold it's nose to vote for him again. Which bodes well for undecideds on our side.
But here's a question: Who should I give money to now? The Dean sinking ship (which I've donated to already), or to Kerry's rising star?

But you know, it's awfully tempting to want to be on the side of the winner just once in my life. I can't tell you how many losing candidate's yard signs I've yanked out of my frozen grass in November.
Sigh.

4. Why not give some to who you like the most. |
|
And give the rest to whoever wins the primary. I donated 25% of my intended contribution to Dean early on, but I'm saving the rest for the winner.
One exception might be if Lieberman wins, but I'd still vote for him over Bush.

I contributed to Dean frequently early on, but am now trying to decide where to place my money to do the most good. I'm not ruling out giving more to Dean, but right now I see Edwards and Clark as the best chances to unseat Shrub.

7. I'm anxious to see how Edwards does in SC |
|
If he can make a good showing there, I would follow up on him some more.
I'm not sure I can buy into W. Clark, though I don't think I've fairly evaluated him. I wish I could be home once to watch a debate. Every one has been scheduled on a night I have an event.

I've never been too active in politics before this presidential election (although I've only been able to vote in two before this). Dean's enthusiasm got me worked up to get involved early on. I agree that regardless of the outcome of the primary, he has done a lot to rally the troops. :dem:
