Craziest (also false) justification ever for invading Iraq heard at work
In the lunchroom today the security guard is watching the news and announced he was voting for Bush and here's how the rest of the conversation transpired:

Why would you vote for Bush
I think he's best for our country
How
A lot of ways
Name some
Well, he took out Saddam
And he was a threat to us, how
Well, he gave bin Laden the money to pull off 9/11. <-- Are you reading this. He thinks Saddam financed the Sept. 11 attacks.
And just where did you hear a thing like that
On TV. I heard it on the news once
That is so patently false I can't even begin to describe the ways

I backed off because I could feel the steam coming out of my ears and since I'm a manager I couldn't create that kind of drama, but I definitely want to straighten him out tomorrow.

So, please give me some ammunition and documentation. Keep in mind that he's obviously not too bright.

What really gets me is that he is in the demographic that is so totally getting screwed by these people. Every time he pulls that lever, he is voting against his own interests. We need to get these people to wake up.

1. Powell recently gave an official statement denying any link.

Do a google search. It was very recent, like a few months ago.

But keep in mind that this guy is most likely a huge idiot and a mindless sheep who bought all of the lies. Arguing with people like this is pointless.

6. Good point!
He's one of those rent-a-cops and he doesn't have a gun.

3. My favorite is when people say "Saddam was a bad guy"
Well, yeah, but there are tons of bad guys in the world. Why would a president who criticized the last administration for "nation building" during a time of peace suddenly start "nation building" with humanitarian missions when we are still fighting a war in Afganistan, trying to get to those responsible for 9/11?

7. Forget the "bad guys" in the world, how about the ones in the US?
Rape? We've got it.
Murder? We've got it.
Mass murder? We've got it.

We're making Iraq safer for women and children? What about us, Mr. President?

13. No need to fight a war in Afghanistan...won't find anyone responsible
for 9-11 there.

4. What's that saying about throwing pearls before swine?
Faux indoctrinated trolls are difficult to de-program. Be ready for a long treatment.

5. I had a guy like that who worked for me once
I did my best to set him straight. But I was a little harsh on him. I have a hard time with stupid people.

These guys think we got hit, and we have to hit "them" back. They probably couldn't find Iraq on a map.

8. Tell him that Bush said Saddham didn't have anythng to do with it
You saw it on the news. Say, I wonder if security companies will soon find it lucrative to bring foreign workers in as security guard "trainees"?

9. I would suggest writing a report
written for him, so that he can get all the facts he needs to become aware

after that...he'll probably say you're full of scheisse, but then you can say that you can back it with facts

but there's always the possibility that you've found one of the willing...you know...those people that really don't care what the government does as long as it's staying out of their lives
