Out of curiosity, what the hell is the difference between "Homeland ......
Security" and "National Security"? I mean, isnt the Homeland the Nation? I suppose it is a euphemistic way of them telling us "We'll mind your business AND ours, but dont you pay any attention to our business".

Am i way off here?

I hate it when they try and buffalo me.

But "homeland" sounds a lot more nationalistic and scary and "dictatorly."

why not just call it domestic security? i mean, american's a nation of immigrants, and i'm not sure how many of us consider it the "homeland"

3. That is exactly what it reminds me of.....And Tom Ridge makes me think i
am being made to FEEL all warm and fuzzy whilst he tosses my bedroom while i am at work and calls it "Sneak and Peak" or some such nonsense.

of DHS to DOD and DOD to DOW to more accurately reflect their true roles.

Department of Defense and the Department of War. But it's better when the dictatorship-in-the-making makes it more obvious.
